The first Year of the first cycle of the four year programme of Ordinary Level (O-Level) secondary education.

The O'Level Five main learning areas; namely,

languages (Kiswahili, English, French, Arabic, and Chinese)
natural sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Information and Computer Studies, Technical Education, Agriculture, and Home Economics)
social sciences (History, Geography, Economics, and Civics)
business studies (Commerce and Bookkeeping)
sports and arts (Fine Arts, Theatre Arts, Physical Education and Music)
